Welcome! Let's chat some Pokes.
I would expect JB to be in the 20-25-minute range, and potentially more or less depending on foul trouble, injuries, etc. Coaches liked what they've seen from him, especially in the closed-door scrimmage with Nebraska.
Naughton is a high-IQ kid who played for a good high school coach. That's helping his learning curve. He's one of about six kids who potentially could redshirt, but it's up to them. I'd be very surprised if he did.
Anyone going to the Border War and/or exhibition game?
You know, I'm not 100 percent exactly which recruits will be in town. There are certainly a handful. One commit, Chandler Garrett, will be here for an unofficial visit. Big recruiting weekend, though.
I'd like them a lot more if Cameron Coffman and Tanner Gentry were playing. I've heard Smith has been pretty accurate during practice this week (in the limited window I'm allowed to attend, there hasn't been anything of substance; lot of stretching, etc.). But Coffman is a veteran, and Gentry is a huge loss.
Not really. I know they're hopeful that this weekend could help lock down another commit or two, but no one in particular.
Cam has not thrown, from what I've been told. Source told me yesterday he's not going to play, but might dress. Last week he was in street clothes for the game.
I'm not sure I'm really qualified to answer that. I'd hate to speculate without any actual knowledge on that. There's always a chance for some turnover after a down year, but there are many variables.
I've been told they're pleased with the sale thus far. The sales were already decent before the banner-raising was announce, so I'm sure that played into their decision to do it that night. Now, ticket sales are great, but let's just hope it amounts to butts in the seats.
Man, I'm probably the wrong person to ask. I don't get much of the "fan experience" being in the press box. Though you're welcome to tell them to bring back the brownies they had in the press box for the New Mexico game ;)
Wick is still under concussion protocol. Until he passes the protocol, Bohl won't entertain the possibility of a medical redshirt. He would be eligible for one if he doesn't play the rest of the year. With Hill and Overstreet returning next year, along with Joshua Tapscott, Nico Evans and Milo Hall (who is redshirting) back next year, I'm not sure how much they would necessarily want him to return considering his history of head injuries. Each concussion exponentially increased the risk of sustaining another.
I'd guestimate somewhere around 19,000 to 20,000. Border War is always a nice draw, plus the banner-raising doesn't hurt. Driving conditions should be pretty solid. It won't be super warm on Saturday (sunny and a high of 43º), but it could be a lot worse for Nov. 7.
Yep, that's correct. The HATC is on track to begin construction probably in May or June. I'd say May would be the earliest I can see it happening. The last AA renovation phase will begin immediately after the season is done, whenever that may be.
I can imagine. Laramie got about 1 or 2 inches of snow last night. My dog loved it. Hopefully there won't be much on Nov. 28 so fans can get to the football-basketball doubleheader that day.
It comes out on Sunday! Do me a favor and please, please, please pick up a copy of the Star-Tribune that day if you're not a subscriber. Thirty-six pages of great content, all written by yours truly. Put a lot of time and effort into that bad boy.
Also, if you haven't already noticed, we've begun posting some of the stories in that preview section. I'll post the thinks here.
Oooh, I think they'd be pretty pleased if they got 6,000 for the exhibition. They didn't play an exhibition last year, but the one in 2013 drew about 4,500 fans.
Overall season tickets will surpass last year for sure. I'll get the actually number as soon as I can and I'll tweet it out.
Last year 2,564 season tickets were sold. I'd be surprised if they don't get at least 3,000 this year. Pokes basketball has folks excited again.
OK, about 10 minutes left here. Any last questions?
Definitely agree with that. The 1 p.m. Saturday start time will be helpful for the Cal game. Now, just keep your fingers crossed that the roads stay clear.
I can stick around for another minute or two if there
are any last questions?
All right, well in that case, I'm going to wrap this up.
As usual, thanks for joining me. Fun time of year with football and basketball overlapping. I'll bring back my Periscope live video chat around 11:30 or so on Saturday, see join me again if you can.
Thanks again, and please keep reading the Casper Star-Tribune.
