Don't think so, Gowyo. Returns have definitely been an issue, but Bohl said yesterday that he thinks blocking has been worse than the returners. They are trying new combinations of people on return blocking.
I got you B&G, but that was the explanation we were given. Definitely not a health thing with Wick, though.
I picked Utah State at home. I'm still not totally sold on Air Force, and USU still has a great D and are coming off a big win. I could be wrong, though. Excited to see what happens there.
That's a big one in the Mountain Division.
Air Force defense has been great. But in the Boise game for example, who was responsible for 6 turnovers: AFA D or Boise O? Probably some of both.
Both teams are super confident coming off great wins. Should be a great one to watch.
Another great game. I believe I picked CSU in that one.
Could go either way, though. I could see a CSU letdown on the road. They look tough though with great running game.
Haha Bryan, I haven't posted it. But here's a scoop: I picked Wyoming second.
I also picked Nance as preseason player of the year. Not homer picks per se, but they seemed like the logical picks.
Of course, all depends on if Nance is healthy.
Entire league has lost a ton of talent, except Wyoming and maybe Boise. SDSU adding a ton of guys. Same w/ CSU, NM, Fresno.
All those teams I mentioned will be very competitive.
Here's the breakdown: Bejarano and Avila are both back and very good. But CSU also has 2-3 transfers that are supposed to be good and make an impact right away, plus good coaching.
They'll be good. Question is how good. Depends on how good these transfers really are.
It's the transfers, guy. I haven't seen the guys play a ton, but they are confident 2-3 more guys will make an impact right away + Bejarano and Avila. Sounds pretty tough.
MW is a transfer league now. SDSU, NM, Fresno, UNLV all have transfers coming in that should be big players.
Wyoming is the exact opposite, developing and redshirting freshmen. It's commendable. We'll see which system works.
Perhaps not long. Last year's team was SO talented and SO undisciplined. Should have been an NCAA tourney team.
You also heard about fights within the team, stuff like that. Never seemed like Rice had a ton of control.
This is a big year for Rice. That team is super young and inexperienced, but talented. Like always.
I think they are definitely planning on playing Nance unless something changes. Recovery typically takes 6-9 months. He'll be in month 10 in November.
If he doesn't play in the opener because he isn't ready
, then it's time to re-evaluate thing.
This next recruiting class is his best by a long shot, I think.
But you never know how good a class is until you see those kids in Laramie.
Agreed. Good time to be a UW basketball fan.
This will be Wyoming's best chance at a tourney run in years. And after this year, it will probably take a few more years to get back to that level.
Even if the season doesn't go as planned, I could see the Cowboys making a run in the conference tourney. Win, and you're in.
SDSU is still good but tons of new guys. New Mexico lost all its proven talent.
21-17, Wyoming. I have spoken.
And with that said, that's all our time for today. Thanks for stopping by, folks. See you next week!
