Yeah, I've never seen two bad appendixes on one team, let alone one OL. Terrible luck. Something's in the water.
Get there early afternoon Hawaii time on Friday, leave early Sunday morning. Not a ton of relax time. I am hoping to hit the Pearl Harbor memorial, though. It's five minutes from the stadium.
Maybe we can get my sports editor Ross to do a statistical analysis on that. Results would be ugly.
Other than the offensive line issues, it's pretty clean. SS Jesse Sampson, who missed the last game, will still be out. Kamana will start again there. Other than that, I think they'll be OK.
They've got a bunch of tough games, B&G. Hawaii is tough on the road. SJSU, CSU, Fresno, Boise. I think they could win them all, but they have to be healthy and playing well. This is a huge game.
Haha, exactly. Who is your son Dorcas?
Ah, gotcha. Congrats on Jordan! Looks like he caught on at FB very, very quickly. Bath likes him a lot. Also looked really good w/ that catch at Oregon!
I don't think they'll do much w/ the temperature. They practiced outside yesterday. Rufran mentioned they might practice inside some and pump up the heat a bit. But with the time change, that's why they are going a day early.
I'll do what I can to research the two appendectomy's
In previous hot games, Wyoming has been OK. Played well in opener at Nebraska last year in 90 degree heat. Texas didn't go as well in '12.
I know, fly boy. We're also joking. Really bad luck on the line, though. Pass protection on the edges could be scary on Saturday.
And that's with the fact that Colby has already been sacked 22 times. Ouch.
Think it's also important to note Hawaii plays a 3-4 D, same as Air Force and Oregon. We'll see if the Warriors stuff the box as often as the Falcons did.
Colby's toughness has been a constant all season. Players, coaches really respect him.
I think the below quote from Rafe Kiely sums up how the team feels about Kirkegaard.
I think they have to solidify their O-line at some point, but that won't happen this week. Most important is that they need to get good yards on first and second down, whether that's in run game or short-mid passes. Wyoming can't succeed with so many 3rd and longs.
Tons of 3rd and longs last few weeks.
Well the thing with Kirkegaard is he's not a great QB. Not a great athlete, not the most accurate. But he's doing the absolute best he can. Don't think you can ask much more of him. It's a tough situation in the first year of a new regime.
He needs to cut down on turnovers. If he can do that, they'll win plenty of games.
Who else has questions, folks? Got about 20 minutes left.
B&G, I think they would like to do that, though they'll mix in May plenty. Issue in MSU and Oregon games is that they were down so much so quickly and also had beat-up OL, so they had to cut down on runs.
If they're up in the second half against Hawaii, they'll run a lot.
Bryan, Bohl said after the game that they were down so much early in the game that they had to change play calls. Also had significant OL injuries so they couldn't run everything they wanted.
