Hello, folks. Sorry for the technical difficulties. Do we have anybody in the live chat yet?
Hey there, Wyo. Hard to call it much of an off season, since we're writing stories year-round. But I enjoyed it. Very happy to be in game week, though.
That's right, Poke Fan. Even for a sportswriter, I think we're all ready to stop talking about it and start playing.
Definitely excited and fired-up. Nobody knows exactly what to expect on Saturday, and I think that adds to it. Tons of build-up and those guys are going to be hyped.
I think that's the right way to look at it. Schedule will make it hard to win a lot of games. But can you see progress? That's how we should judge the season.
Honestly, I think six wins is best case scenario with this team. Seven if everything falls into place.
But with two new systems and a really tough non-con schedule, that would be a wildly successful year.
Haha, Casper I think we're done with bubble screens for the most part.
You won't see passes that lose three yards.
Emily, that's definitely a concern. I don't want fans to think the ceiling is too high right away. Again, six wins would be a GREAT year.
If this team plays tough, improves defensively and doesn't turn it over, that's progress.
73 Poke, I think you're right on the money.
I just hope most fans think like you do.
If Kirkegaard doesn't turn it over, yes Brandon. But I wrote a story about a month ago where we proved that Bohl has absolutely no issues turning to a young guy if the experienced QB isn't getting it done.
He did it 3-4 times at NDSU.
Right Wyo. It was the way they lost. Lack of depth on D crippled team in second half. can't have that again.
And honestly, last year's schedule was built for 8 wins. 5-7 was unacceptable.
Haha, don't hold your breath on those two games Casper Fan. We'll see what happens.
gopokes, that definitely hampers the Griz. I have a lot of respect for Jordan Johnson, so I think they'll be OK on the whole. Look for them to find that pass-catching TE as much as possible.
But make no mistake, Henderson loss is HUGE
That's true, Casper. And fun fact, Tim Kamana played with him growing up in Hawaii. Maybe he has him scouted...? haha
Wyoming should try the Stanford tactic in that Oregon game. Punch them in the mouth early in often, try to soften them up.
